Welcome to the Severn View Hotel, a beautifully situated hotel on the banks of the River Severn in Worcester, Worcestershire.

Well used by visitors and travellers alike, we're perfectly placed: two minutes from the bus station and five minutes from the main train station at Foregate Street. We pride ourselves on a friendly and welcoming environment, and we're ideally situated for shopping, restaurants and nights out, as well as Worcester Racecourse, Sixways, Worcester Cathedral and the County Cricket Ground on New Road. Downstairs you'll find the Vue Bar, and right outside, the river and the walk into the heart of the city.
On a working river
A place with the Industrial Revolution running through it.
The Severn View stands on one of the great highways of the age of industry. For centuries the River Severn was the busiest navigable river in the country, a working artery that carried coal, timber, grain and iron down from the Midlands to Bristol and out to the world.
Just upstream lies Coalbrookdale and the famous Iron Bridge, widely called the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. The iron cast there, and the goods made across the growing towns of the Midlands, travelled this water past Worcester's quays aboard the Severn trows, the broad sailing barges that once crowded this stretch of river.
When the Worcester & Birmingham Canal finally reached the Severn in 1815, it joined the river to the workshops of Birmingham and made Worcester a busy inland port. The city built its own name in trade too, Royal Worcester porcelain from 1751, glove-making that at its height employed tens of thousands, and the sauce that still carries the county's name.
Today the barges are gone and the quaysides are quiet, but the view from our windows is the same water that carried an age of industry, and we're proud to keep a welcome on its banks.
